If you would like your logs turned into high quality lumber, boards, live edge slabs, or beams then you’ve come to the right place. We can bring our Wood-Mizer LT15 Wide portable sawmill right to your property to mill your logs!
Good trees should not be left to rot, tossed in a landfill, or turned into firewood. We can turn them into valuable lumber, in the size you need. We can mill logs that are up to 36 inch in diameter, 15-foot log length.
We will bring our portable sawmill to your property and set it up next to your row of logs. We would then load them onto the mill, using a wench. Each log is then sawed into fresh green lumber cut to your size requirements.
Live Edge Sawing – Since our sawmill can cut 36 inch wide, it is an ideal sawmill for Live Edge Slabs.
Dimensional and Quarter Sawing, milling produces lumber of specific dimensions, 2x4, 4x4, 2x6, 1x8 etc.
Please note that we DO NOT cut down trees, that will need to be done by a professional tree company.
There are a few things we will need from you for operating the sawmill at your location:
Having the logs laid out in a row is best for us to get to each log. If you have many logs, below is a picture of how the logs should be stacked, not more than two logs high for safety reasons as we start to move them one at a time to mill.

There are a few things we will need from you for operating the sawmill at your location:
- The logs must be easily accessible for our truck and the sawmill.
- The mill is 21' long, 6'3” wide, and 6’6” tall. The logs need to be laid in a row on a flat, mostly level, ground.
- The ground should be dry and hard enough to support the weight of the truck and mill.
- The logs must be lined up parallel to the spot the sawmill will be set, with the log centers lined up with each other. The branches should be cut off as close as possible to the trunk.
- Having friends or family on site with you on milling day is needed. When lumber is cut, it is very heavy as it is “wet”. Having scrappy helpers get it stacked and stickered quickly is ideal for wet lumber. We operate the mill, you and your team move the wood.
- Having a healthy stash of stickers ready for stacking is essential. Stickers are 1” wood spacers of dry wood, a pale colored hardwood is preferred so it doesn’t leave a stain on your new slabs. They can also be supplied for an additional cost.

They should be lined in a place on your property that we can get our mill in this position. There is only one loading side for a sawmill. How it is shown here, it was backed into place coming in from the left. The mill needs to be parked on solid ground or paved area. If it has been raining and your site becomes a filed of mud, we will have to reschedule.
There will be a good amount of sawdust on the sawyer side of the mill left behind, as well as bark scraps and outer pieces that are not viable for lumber but do make good outdoor firepit scraps!

Stacking Your Lumber to Dry:
There are numerous ways to dry your lumber. Outside air drying requires good air circulation. Lumber needs to be stacked with stickers so that air can flow all around the individual boards to draw moisture out. You should line the stickers in the same place for equal weight distribution.
Lumber should be stacked as quickly as possible after milling, within a few days at the most. The sooner the better to prevent rot and warping from starting. They should be stacked like the below picture. You can put metal roofing sheets on top, make sure it hangs over all 4 sides of the stack, and weigh them down with bricks or heavy rocks.

- $50 for any blade damaged by foreign objects in your logs. A foreign object is anything that is not wood, usually nails or screws. (loss of tooth on a blade is a total loss of blade)
- A deposit of $100 is required to book your date. This will go towards your final amount due. If we arrive on site and we cannot mill because you did not read the above requirements, it is nonrefundable. A lot of time goes into prepping the mill for transport, plus wasted gas/mileage to get there and not be able to work.
- Travel Fees. If you are over 20 miles from Tucker, the fee is $1.00 per mile round trip.
- $225 minimum milling fee (3 hours milling) for jobs 20 miles or less from Tucker, and $300 (4 hours milling) minimum fee for jobs over 20 miles.
- If you need for FBH to supply the extra helping hands, they are billed at $45 an hour per helper.
